Frequently Asked Questions about Roman Stone

Roman Stone is synthesized using virgin acid washed quartz (93%), polymer (7%) and a small amount of inorganic pigment under vacuum and high pressure. The slab then undergoes a thorough check for thickness and strength before being subject to a high sheen of polish. Quartz is also one of the hardest naturally occurring materials.

High content of quartz crystal ensures its hardness and resistance to Abrasion, Compression, Scratch, Heat, Corrosion and Penetration.

The Roman Stone palette consists of Supernatural exotic Quartz slabs like Calacatta and Statuario and there are more than 8 to 10 variations in this series that are updated regularly to the latest exotic colours Slab sizes are usually 3180 x 1580mm but could vary slightly. Roman Stone quartz surfaces are nonporous and can be used in the kitchen, or wherever food is prepared.

Roman Stone can be used for walls and countertops. A wide variety of edge treatments are also possible. Due to the extreme hardness of the material, special diamond cutting tools must be used in fabrication.

Roman Stone quartz surfaces are very easy to maintain because they are durable, nonporous and chemical-resistant. They require no sealants or waxes to retain their gloss and ultra-smooth surface. Routine cleaning may be done with a damp cloth or paper towel and, if necessary, a small amount of non-bleach, nonabrasive cleanser.

Roman Stone is resistant to heat, scratching and staining. However, the use of trivets or hot pads is always recommended. A cutting board should be used when slicing or chopping, especially with a serrated knife. Spills should be wiped up quickly; a nonabrasive cleaning pad and a non-bleach cleaning product may be used to remove stubborn or dried spills.
